For one semester, I worked as the poster designer for Scout, Northeastern’s student lead design studio. The group puts on events throughout the semester and my goal was to create posters that reflected the subject of the event. The posters each had to tell their own story, while also keeping to the Scout brand. Throughout the semester, the style guide for the posters shifted to keep the visuals up to date. In the beginning, I focused on using a photographic background that cut away at the large type in the front. But towards the end of the semester, the posters would feature a tag with the logo in the corner and more illustrative backgrounds.
